Tip #1:
Music selection usually makes or breaks the event. Make sure your disk jockey has a large variety of music, which can accommodate patrons from all walks of life.
Tip #2:
Always ask about additional charges. Most DJ companies will charge extra for staying past a certain amount of time, lighting options, larger sound systems, crowd interaction and the use of their wireless microphone for speeches and announcements. When getting a quote make sure all of these “add on” charges are calculated into the total.
Tip #3:
Find a DJ that works for you. Set up a meet and greet with your disk jockey to see if you click. A lot of this business has to do with personality and DJs aren’t exactly cheap enough to hire somebody that rubs you the wrong way.
Tip #4:
If you find a DJ for a price that is significantly lower than what other companies have been quoting you, ask LOTS of questions. What kind of set up do you have? What variety of music do you carry? Do you have lighting? Do you take requests? Do you have a wireless microphone set up? Sometimes a great deal turns out to be a big mistake. Where you may save a few shekels, you can sacrifice quality. You want your event to be outstanding, memorable, and enjoyable and in doing so you have to be very picky with whom you hire as your entertainment. Just make sure that they're giving you pearls!!!!
